  • Schwarzes Haus (Düsseldorf)

    Founded in Düsseldorf by artists and culture makers Miriam Owusu-Tutu, Mbingo K. Itondo and Karen Peprah-Gyamfi, Schwarzes Haus invites Black artists, speakers, creatives and activists to create safe spaces for Black people. With the aim of increasing the visibility of Black people, the collective supports Black networks and does representation work in the fields of art and culture. In short, they celebrate Black German culture with themed evenings, collaborations, music and literature.

  • Tmnit Ghide

    Tmnit Ghide is Eritrean, born and raised in southern Germany, co-founder and operator of the Berlin label and platform ALVOZAY and herself active as a DJ and music curator. House, Rap, Ghetto Tech, Footwork, Disco, Zouk - you name it - Tmnit aka DJ T.Total believes genres are a myth and puts together genre-spanning what supposedly does not fit together. As a contributor to various collectives such as Munich's Afrodiaspora2.0, Vienna's Bad&Boujee and also the BlackMovementAustria, she dedicates herself to socio-political questions and challenges in different forms - artistic and activist. She always aims to build a bridge between the African continent and the diaspora.

  • Selamauit Berhane

    Selamauit Berhane is a Black woman, born and raised in Germany, whose parents fled Eritrea 35 years ago. She completed her studies (B.Sc. Psychology and M.Sc. Global Mental Health) in the UK. She worked for several years in youth welfare as a mental health professional. Currently, she counsels refugees as an integration manager. She is also an active member of Afrodiaspora 2.0, focusing her interests on Mental Health, self-love and community-based resilience building.

    AfroDiaspora 2.0//e.V. is a collective of Black women in Munich and the surrounding area that promotes community-based Black empowerment. The collective sees itself as a platform for Black women, children, youth and artists and focuses on workshops and events on Black voices, Black perspectives and Black knowledge.

  • Jackie Abhulimen


    Jackie Abhulimen is an activist and cultural worker from Athens, Greece. Spanning just over a decade, her social justice work is centered on dismantling the inequities that shape the migrant experience in Greece, with a particular focus on securing the rights of the second generation. She has a professional background in advocacy within NGOs where her work involved political activism, social solidarity and civic engagement. She currently works in cultural programming where her focus has been on creating infrastructure and facilitating space towards bringing narratives on the lived experience of Black people in Greece to the forefront of public discourse. Jackie holds a BA in Development and Peace Studies from the University of Bradford, UK and is pursuing an MA in Performance Studies at New York University. She currently lives and works in New York City.

    Black Pearl De Almeida

    Born in Mogi das Cruzes- Sao Paulo - Brazil based in Berlin Germany Black Pearl de Almeida Lima is a Black Trans Woman, multidisciplinaryArtist , stated with dance classes and a bit of acting classes. She received a scholarship from the Birgit Keil Foundation in 2010, which enabled her to graduate from the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim, Germany. In 2012, she was invited to participate in the Prix de Lausanne. The following year, she started an engagement at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe under the directionof Birgit Keil as a Dancer. There, she had the opportunity to perform in productions by Peter Wright, John Cranko, Terence Köhler, Peter Breuer, Tim Plegge, Thiago Bordin and others. Also in Karlsruhe she did her first creation “Ego” by in the evening Choreografen Stellen Sich vor in 2015. In 2016, she had the chance to work as a soloist at the Staatstheater Augsburg with Mauro de Candia, Mauro Bigonzetti, Krzysztof Pastor,Dominique Dumais and Kevin O!day. In 2018, Black Pearl was given a permanent engagement with the Gauthier Dance Company and has performed in productions of guest choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Hofesh Shechter and Helena Waldman.From 2020, she were a dancer for Richard Siegal / Ballet of Difference at Schauspiel Köln in the same year she also initiated in The German ballroom scene being part of Kiki House Of Solar. Since 2021 member of The Iconic House of Saint Laurent Europe.

  • Dirbdil Assefa

    Dirbdil Assefa is a writer and director based in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia. He has an MA in International Relations and has taught for six in Addis Ababa University at the department of Political Science and International Relations. He co-owns RUSTY TWON Films, a production company dedicated to making creative narratives and documentaries. Currently, he is developing a feature documentary entitled “Children of Afran Qallo, Wake Up!”.

  • Nadia Dalh

    Nadia is a designer and illustrator from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In her work, she highlights the beauty of women of colour, particularly Black women utilising traditional and digital portraits. Additionally, she uses design thinking and illustration as a means to create strategies and activate innovation processes. Currently, she is pursuing an MSc in Strategic Product Design at Delft University of Technology.

  • Lis Camelia

    Lis Camelia was born in Curaçao, and is currently living in Rotterdam. She finished her studies - BA International studies & MA in Media studies - in the Netherlands. As a cultural producer, she aims to use objects, photos, colours and even sounds that help tell stories that connect us to culture and knowledge. She hopes to contribute to the showcasing of ideas that can build stronger communities within the African Diaspora.

    Courtney Brown

    Courtney is a visual artist based in London, the UK. Her recent work has featured digital collages and illustration to create pieces that reflect individual stories while exploring emotions and mental health. Courtney's digital _Dream Series_ showcased four individuals and told their stories through the surreal and warped view of a dreamscape. Pursuing art in her free time, Courtney has recently begun a new project which will look at the experience of being Black and navigating the subject of mental health.

  • Kelly Foster's Face

    Kelly Foster

    Kelly is a public historian and open knowledge advocate. She has been contributing to Wikimedia projects since 2012 and is a current trustee of Wikimedia UK. She has over 15 years of experience working with Black-led community archives and museums. She regularly works with organisations such as Black Cultural Archives, Lambeth Archives, Wellcome Collection, the Museum of London, Black History Walks, and the Research Centre for Transnational Art, Identity and Nation (TrAIN) at UAL. Kelly was born in London to a working-class, African-Jamaican family.

  • Fayo Said

    Fayo Said is a photographer and board member of the Association of Black Art_ists e.V. She is profoundly interested in how positive social changes can be initiated through creative methods and channels. In the past, she was actively involved in the Afro Student Association in The Hague - a platform that aims to empower the black community. As part of a research traineeship at the University of Leiden, Fayo conducted a combined literary and linguistic analysis of Iraqw tales.
